Parkers Heritage Collection 9th Release is an 8 Year Old American Malt Whiskey. That is a Kentucky Straight Malt Whiskey with a mash bill consisting of 65% malted barley and 35% corn. The barrels for this run were stored on the 5th and 7th floors of Rickhouse Y in Bardstown. The whiskey is aged for 8 years in vrigin oak and is bottled unfiltered at a cask strength of 54% abv (108 Proof). Parkers Heritage collection is a series of rare, limited edition American Whiskeys offered as a tribute to sixth-generation Master Distiller Parker Beam for his more than five decades of crafting exceptional Whiskies. Heaven Hill Master Distiller Emeritus Parker Beam, for whom the acclaimed series is named, was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (also called ALS or Lou Gehrigs disease) several years ago. For every bottle sold of this edition, Heaven Hill will contribute $5 to ALS research and treatment in honour of Parker.…

Corn sage and caramel nose quite level. Sleek mouth feel and smooth followed by a solid consume and hot completion. Sweet direct and an exceptionally fulfilling whiskey flavor regardless of being a malt. Would be an incredible whiskey in the event that it was conceivable to discover and less expensive.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Very big, you have to approach this one carefully at full strength. Lots of pencil shavings from years in virgin oak, but there's enough nuttiness and hints of honey and lemon to intrigue.

Taste

Some welcome fudge helps a powerful entry with more fresh oak, malty beer, dried grass (moving into smokiness) with hints of caramelised Muscovado.

Finish

Almost hoppy oak with a little treacle.
