An amaro from Nonino, a family-owned company who have been distilling since 1897, Quintessentia is made with herbs and grape eaux-die-vie, aged in Nevers, Limousin and ex-sherry oak. Nonino is a small Italian company that is a producer of grappa. Nonino is also the name of the family that owns and runs the brand Nonino Grappa. smooth dazzling kick at end

Brilliantly light yet intricate. Rich sweet tree natural product pleasantness orange light herbs and a delicate hit of liqorice. Lightly unpleasant mid sense of taste. Incredible all alone and basic for a Paper Plane. $49 in Ontario.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Amaro Nonino has an earthy nose with notes of bitter-orange and cinnamon. Followed by a hint of burnt caramel coming through at the end.

Taste

The palate has that “grown-up” bitter-sweet taste; achieved by the addition of sugar, so as to balance the bitterness of the botanicals.

Finish

Amaro Nonino is made from grappa with an infusion of mountain herbs. It tastes of herbs and licorice with a finish of orange.
