Released to commemorate the birthday of company founder, George Garvin Brown, Old Forester Birthday Bourbon is made from a batch distilled on one day at the Brown-Forman distillery in Shively, Kentucky. This particular batch comes from 93 barrels distilled on 4th June 2004. Handpicked by Master Distiller, Chris Morris, this birthday bourbon offers a soft butterscotch, oak and hints of citrus on the nose, followed by creamy vanilla on the palette and finishes with the hints most subtle of star anise and moderate spice. Tasting Notes

Nose

Warm and rich with inviting baking spices that are immediately noticeable. Inhaling deeper reveals oak, banana bread, vanilla, cinnamon bark, and a touch of summer fruits.

Taste

Spice steps out front, with white pepper and light rye spice kicking off the sip. These flavors mingle with sweeter ones including vanilla, caramel, ripe melon, and a touch of honey. The spice and sweet flavors come together and balance one another well.

Finish

Long and lingering. The sweet flavors from the sip quickly fade away as spice, white pepper, oak, and a hint of leather roar to the front. The spice brings with it a mouth-filling heat that lingers well after you swallow.
