Heaven's Door Straight Tennessee Bourbon is adored for its cherry, spicy, brown sugar and tropical flavor notes. Heaven's Door is a whiskey brand developed in collaboration with Bob Dylan. The bottles feature iron gates created by Dylan in his studio, Black Buffalo Ironworks, which were made from found objects from across America including “everything from farm equipment, children’s toys, kitchen utensils and antique firearms to chains, cogs, axes and wheels.” As for the whiskey, this is a straight bourbon distilled in Tennessee and is aged for "almost" seven years in new, charred American oak. Bottled at 90 proof, its availability will first be in Tennessee, Texas, California, Florida, New York, and Illinois with more markets to come.…

About the brand

The Heaven's Door range of whiskey have been created by Bob Dylan (yes, actual Bob Dylan, the legendary songwriter) and Marc Bushala (founder of Angel's Envy Bourbon), made in a church in Tennessee. This expression is made with a mash bill featuring 30% "small grains", and the spirit is allowed to age for at least 8 years in American oak barrels. The bottle features a design from Dylan's own wrought ironwork, and the name is of course a reference to his song 'Knockin' on Heaven's Door'.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Classic dark and chew rye notes - mint, baking spices, anise, freshly ground pepper - form around a creamy core of banoffee pie and vanilla ice cream. A warming, woody element builds underneath with touches of citrus, leather and molasses. A big whiff of pricey dark chocolate wafts through with time.

Taste

The flavours intensify on the palate. There’s a nutty toffee foundation with more chocolate and spice, followed by apple pie, orange peel, spearmint, salted butter and nougat.

Finish

The spice completely disappears but the mint lingers in a calm, delicate and slightly succulent finish.
