Founded in 1826 by James Allardice, the distillery was purchased in 1960 by William Teacher & Sons and then, in 2008 experienced a complete renaissance under The BenRiach Distillery Company. On the button: new brownies cinnamon nutmeg espresso flavor. On the sense of taste: milk chocolate grain thick full mouth feel not very sweet on the completion. Refined in 1995 Packaged in 2016 matured 21 years yet at the same time not as mind boggling and dependable as the parliament 21 yr old. Paid just 160.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Sherry notes so thick you need a knife to cut them! There's a hint of old rum in there too, with pineapple and brown sugar in tow.

Taste

Christmas cake, rum again, chocolate-coated hazelnut, runny honey and a hint of Sauternes.

Finish

Fresh blackcurrant, blueberry pancakes with a generous helping of maple syrup.
