Rich dim brilliant golden tinge. The nose unquestionably the feature - consistent with its name (Pedro Ximenez) the sweet sherry stands apart advancing to dried organic product (currants and sultanas) and a trace of vanilla. The conventional Laphroaig peat/smoke radiates through on the sense of taste in spite of the fact that the pleasantness of the PX finish harnesses and tweak the peatiness to a steady crescendo of oaky peppery spiced wrapped up. The measure warms the chest and waits. Much like Ardbeg An Oa with the PX finish however substantially more extreme. Lean toward this to the An Oa.
