About the brand
In the early 19th century, due to the heavy taxes on spirit production imposed by the government, many whisky producers were forced to operate illegally. The area around Glengoyne was full of hills and forests which provided excellent cover for the distillers. Records show that at least eighteen illicit whisky stills were operating in the area. In the 1820s an Act of Parliament was passed, which reduced the cost of the licence required to distil, and the duty payable on spirit sales. Shortly after the introduction of the 'Excise Act of 1823' (or 'Walsh Act') the first of these illicit stills came into official existence, with Glengoyne following later in 1833. Although Glengoyne only officially existed from 1833 and no records exist from before this date, it is believed that distilling on the site pre-dates that with a local historian writing that the smoke of "illicit stills" was visible in the area in the early 19th century.

The nose is extraordinary and held a great deal of guarantee of products of the soil and on the sense of taste it's still there (particularly the flavor) yet hollows out and practically watery from the start contact

Alright back for some more surveys. Today Glengoyne multi year. I truly would like to do this next to each other with a Macallan 18 yet except if another person is purchasing that is not occurring. I could place in close to a couple of different alternatives I have yet nothing else appears to be perfect. A versus with this anyway appears to be required. At any rate 43% chill sifted and non shaded. They got 1 of those 3 right. 120 bucks places this into the sensible all be it not incredible evaluated whisky gathering. At 46% I think I'd give this one good grades on cost however at 43 I don't consider this to be esteem. Simply sensible. Shading - not huge on shading audits but rather as it's non hued you can see a decent gold with some red tints. This is substantial topped off sherry barrels no ifs ands or buts and I'd surmise American oak too. Nose - First note is simply vanilla oak and a trace of sherry. A subsequent draw and I'm beginning to see the apple some pear and some jam. Fruity however gives me progressively an impression of some ex whiskey barrel impact than all sherry. On the off chance that all sherry there are some drained old wood in here. Taste - A ton of vanilla it is fiery with a great deal of oak notes and afterward that jam. On the off chance that I didn't peruse this was all sherry barrels I'd expect this was marginally more sherried than the baffling multi year. Gets done with a great deal of sherry flavor notes. Finish is in reality quite long too. By and large I'm somewhat frustrated as I needed to a greater degree a sherry blast. So far the example I had of the multi year remains the fantasy I have with each Glengoyne that I simply get a less adult form of that perfect work of art. Rather I simply get altogether different articulation with the 12 15 and 18. Each of the a decent yet when individuals let me know these folks are sherry bombs well I surmise they're discussing the 25 and maybe the 21 which I've yet to discover a jug of. All said I'm giving this a 3 star rating. The completion is so long and waiting that it pulls up the entire rest of the issues and carries it to a 3. Without that finish I genuinely could have been near a 2 star which I accept is the thing that I gave the 15.
