St George Terroir Gin

Founded in 1982, St. George Single Malt Whiskey is a handcrafted American original. Beginning as a one-man operation, Since its founding, St. George has developed a reputation as one of America’s pioneering craft distillers. The Alameda, CA- based distillery itself is situated inside a World War II airplane hangar which enjoys views across the stunning San Francisco bay. Founder Jörg Rupf, whose family has a history in distilling, originally moved to the Bay Area from Germany. Rupf started out by bringing authentic fruit brandies to the U.S. He utilized the state’s fruits, whilst simultaneously introducing the concept of craft distilling to the country. Then the distillery was a tiny production facility with tasting tables “jerry-rigged on sawhorses”. Now it stands as a 65,000-square-foot hangar with a enormous tasting room, laboratory, and a lineup of the most beautiful copper stills in the industry. As its success has grown, St. George has expanded its portfolio extensively. Beginning with yearly releases of single malt whiskey, it has moved into absinthe verte to some of the most acclaimed gins in the world: Botanivore Gin, Dry Rye Gin and an unparalleled tribute to Bay Area botanicals, Terroir Gin.
